In the art community, especially for students in art school, there is a stigma around sharing unfinished work and making sure their website or Instagram is cohesive and connected to the overall "theme" or "aesthetic".
With this 8 week social media intervention, I worked alongside a group of interdisciplinary artists and designers to challenge that stigma and promote the sharing of unfinished work.
Together as a group of students from Illustration, Animation, Graphic, Product and Interior Design courses, we shared posts on Instagram asking for followers to send in their unfinished artwork.
The intervention provided a service whereby the artwork would be finished by an artist from another discipline to give a different outcome than what might be expected from the original designer.
This project was very successful and gained over a hundred followers over the course of 8 weeks. Feedback from followers and participants in the intervention said that in seeing the various outcomes of different disciplines it gave a unique outlook on the various views that could be had on one simple piece of art.
Through these innovative collaborations, many were inspired to post unfinished and development work on their own Instagram pages.
